Training at Floorbrite

Floorbrite invest more money and time into the training and development of our staff than ever before. We recognise the need to continue training beyond initial qualifications: to maintain, upgrade and update skills throughout our working life.

We provide both on-the-job and off-the-job training, delivered by our dedicated Training and Development Manager. We also train via external sources for industry recognised and educational standards such as specific professional qualifications in Finance and HR, NVQ’s, PASMA, Tag, IRATA, IPAF, MEWP, specialist machinery and Health and Safety and first aid.

Floorbrite’s Training and Development Manager

On smaller sites our fully trained Area Managers are more than capable of handling the TUPE process and inducting and training new personnel into the initial Floorbrite processes. However, our larger sites benefit from the additional support of our Training and Development Manager before the contract even starts. Their process begins here:

• Involvement from the Training and Development Manager at TUPE consultation stage to help to establish who will be transferring to Floorbrite in any new contract.

• Involvement in the interview process to establish qualifications or experience for a particular job.

• Assistance on the first day of a contract to help the Floorbrite Area Manager to complete Site Inductions to ensure staff are aware of: H & S, fire exits, smoking policy, safe behaviour, location of welfare areas, PPE, electrical equipment checks, chemical hazards, safety arrangements on site, manual handling and toolbox talks followed by a questionnaire.

• Provision of chemical training.

• Introduction to a site specific “Client File” (Including COSHH) maintained on every site.

• Training for colour coding.

• Machinery training.

• Cleaning to the BICS (The British Institute of Cleaning Science) standard. Provided by our Training and Development Manager who is a trained BICS assessor.

• Certificates are awarded for “Cleaning to a BICS Standard” and all of the above.

• Training records are maintained within personnel files.

• Site training matrixes’ are maintained in order to easily identify and record future training requirements.

• Existing staff are re-trained every 12 months.

• Additional training is provided as required.

• Supervisor training is held as required, including: How to speak to staff and conduct yourself in a professional manner.

• Area Manager training is held as required, including: As above but also to visit and understand each department, how they operate and their challenges within Floobrite.
