Recruitment & Vetting
Since 1972 Floorbrite Cleaning & Facilities Services has steadily employed a growing number of staff. Today with a workforce of 1000 employees, it is testament to our management team, family culture and values that our workforce is dedicated and committed to delivering service excellence above and beyond our clients’ expectations. Our high standards are consistent, through a selective recruitment process, strict vetting procedure and thorough training programmes. We also champion promotion from within, to nurture and develop our talented individuals to rise through the ranks, fulfil their true potential and have many success stories to talk of.
The Border Agency
Floorbrite is committed to investing in the right people and has worked closely with the Border Agency for years to ensure just this. To confirm our knowledge and understanding of the latest vetting procedures, we invited the Agency to our Manchester Head Office in November 2012 to conduct a presentation to our Operational Management Team, Area Managers, HR Department and Payroll Team. The officer commented that “We are impressed that Floorbrite is working so closely with us in order to be compliant in the most stringent vetting procedures”. Today our highly trained and experienced staff are capable of ascertaining the eligibility of most applicants to work in the UK by ensuring that their ID and travel documentation such as passports and work permits are authentic. Any documentation containing discrepancies’ that require the attention of an experienced Border Agency officer are scanned and sent to the Border Agency for an officer to personally authenticate them on our behalf.
DBS Check (Disclosure and Barring Service, formerly CRB)
Many of our clients work within the financial or legal sector, with sensitive products and information or young and vulnerable people in the education and health sectors. Where required we are able to further vet any potential personnel by conducting a DBS check. This checks for spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands and final warnings and can be enhanced to include any additional information held by local police that is reasonably considered relevant to the workforce being applied for.
Floorbrite’s recruitment process
Following a formal interview new personnel are required to complete a Floorbrite Starter Pack containing an application, medical, employment, safety and training information. This pack is passed to the Operation Management Team with the individual’s original identity and travel documentation, proof of home address, recent utility bill and personal bank details. Once verified to Border Agency standards, photocopies are taken of all ID and travel documents and are signed and counter signed as approved by the relevant area manager and operations management team before being passed to payroll for a 3rd and final check and being entered into Floorbrite’s system.
